The Old Sardine Factory building re-opened in July 2018, after a £1.7 million restoration project by its owners, Looe Harbour Commission. The vision was to breathe new life into this derelict Grade 2 listed building and to ensure its future as a vibrant asset to visitors and the community in Looe.
The original 19th century sardine factory was re-constructed with a new layout to benefit the wider community.
On the ground floor, Looe Harbour Commission runs Looe Harbour Heritage Centre and its Coffee Shop – through the main entrance doors.
Also on the ground floor is Adventure Fit Southwest’s Climbing Wall.
The Sardine Factory Restaurant is on the first floor, accessed by stairs or lift via the separate entrance door on the right on the Quay.
There are also local fishermen stores on the second floor.
